Last year, I purchased an Elderflower plant and put it in the ground, figuring it would take a long time before I saw any blooms. I was so happily wrong!
Back in the Spring, I saw what looked like buds coming out of the plant’s green leaves, and sure enough, it is finally blooming. I don’t have quite enough to fulfill my dreams of making an Elderflower cordial, but I do have enough to garnish a mocktail.

So, looking around at the non-alcoholic options, I found one that seems to fulfill my idea of what an elderflower liqueur should taste like—Giffard Elderflower Alcohol Free.
This is not an endorsement, but I really love the flavor of this product. The taste is sweet, but not cloying as some NA drinks can be. On another note, simple syrup isn’t needed since the liqueur is sweet enough.
I realize that many fabulous drinks can be made with this liqueur, but I want to start with something that allows me to really taste the Elderflower. Since there are so many delicious alcohol-removed sparkling wines available, this is the perfect time to try a French 75 mocktail.
